Defeating Jezebel | INTRODUCTION

God Sees You In The Valley

Man, I'm so excited because God is just so good. I mean, you might be in a valley right now, you might be on the mountaintop, you might call it a wilderness, you might call it a cave, but wherever you are, the Lord says, I am with you. I will never leave you, I will not forsake you. I want to encourage you today that God sees you, that he is intimately acquainted with your needs, and you can rest in him. Moses calls him our dwelling place from generation to generation. He is our tent. His name is a tower. I'm preaching to someone today. I'm excited because God is speaking,

Why Teach On The Jezebel Spirit

and it's in his voice that we find life. His words are spirit and life. We live off of his words. His word is food for us, necessary food, as it is spoken in the scripture. So since uh we've been talking a lot about the Lord and his speech and how powerful he is, I want to um record for a very strong purpose. I have already recorded a series about defeating Jezebel. It's a five-part series, it's very meaty, and it's actually a precursor to a book I'm gonna be writing about 51 revelations about Jezebel. Because the uh the church needs to be aware and needs to know how to fight. I believe this spirit has been neutering churches all over the world. And so I'm I'm excited about it because God's gonna bring great freedom, deliverance, and power as we get set free from this intimidating, manipulating uh spirit and scheme that is rooted in an ideology that is rooted in fear. But this is an introduction to five pieces I've already recorded. The Lord had me come back and basically give you a foundational, powerful, encouraging truth before we dig into Jezebel and how this spirit is perverse and tries to influence and infiltrate the church. I'm gonna pray and then we're gonna dig into why Jezebel actually is an important ingredient to the move of God in your life. Father, we're just so grateful, we're excited because we're brothers and sisters, one blood in you as our dad. Speak now, God, through my mind and my mouth. Take control. Allow every atom to work in concert for your purpose. May your word come forth and not return to you void. We're excited for what it will accomplish. We pray this in the precious name of our big brother Jesus with certainty. Amen. So the Bible says that we should be brave, we should be standing in faith, and that we should be strong. And the word is what does these things in our lives. We surrender our weakness, right? We surrender our weakness to find strength in Him. It's because we're in Him that we can be strong. And so I want to just encourage you about Jezebel, because I think a lot of times this spirit is for some reason exalted or let's say prioritized to make it sound like it's got all this power. Listen, it has no more power than we give it. I'm gonna say that again. It has no more power than we give it. In fact, the power it has is the power to work God's will in the church. So the Lord gave me a dream showing me that Jezebel was lurking outside the body of Christ's uh church, uh, church buildings, church fellowships, looking for ways in, subtly trying to work its way in so that it can over time exert more control and manipulation and hoping to dominate us. That's what the hope is. Excuse me.

Job And God’s Hand In Trials

But I want to go to uh Job chapter two, and I want to explain something to you that's foundational about every particular spirit on the planet that is not holy and how God has allowed them to exist because they're actually working for him. Jezebel's working for God. So in Job chapter two, we know this is when the sons of God, the angels of the Lord, come to the Lord in the courtroom of God, and Satan himself comes, and the Lord is asking him where he's been. He says, I've been going to and fro throughout the earth. He's just been looking to stir up trouble. He doesn't rest. And listen to what Satan says when the Lord presents Job as an example of righteousness to Satan. Say, hey, see how wonderful this man is. Can't you use him as an example for yourself? Is basically what God is saying. Hey, see Job, mark the perfect man, follow, like he follows, but Satan's not interested. But Satan says this to God. He says in Job 2, verse 5, but stretch out your hand now and touch his bone and his flesh, and get this, and he will surely curse you to your face. So Job 2, 5 says, Satan admits that God allowing him to attack Satan is God extending God's hand. Okay, let's go into this again. The next verse, verse 6. And the Lord said to Satan, Behold, he is in your hand, but spare his life. Satan says, Stretch out your hand. God says, Behold, he is in your hand. So whose hand is he in? Primarily God's. Jezebel is useful to God. Hallelujah.

Elijah Driven Into His Next Season

Let's talk about Elijah. Elijah slays the false prophets of Baal that had been seated in power by Jezebel and her manipulation, taking over the palace and really truly taking the authority from Ahab. And through taking authority from Ahab, she set up this false doctrine based on a negative or dark expression of the kingdom of God. Just this anti-Christ kingdom, right? He slays all these prophets. Jezebel then threatens him and says, May it be said of you by this time tomorrow, if the same thing has not been accomplished to you. She's saying, I'm going to kill you like you killed the prophets. And what do we know? Immediately, Elijah leaves. He leaves his servant behind. He goes to a cave after a 40-day, 40-night journey of fasting, and he hides and he starts crying out to the Lord and complaining to the Lord and seeking the Lord and asking the Lord to just take him out of here. I've done my part. I'm all alone. He's battling between faith and fear. He's battling between faith and fear. Why am I talking about this? Jezebel was used by God to drive Elijah to his next assignment. We see this in negative terms so often. Oh, he was depressed. Oh, he ran. Listen, it's still the goodness of God. The Bible says all things work together for good to those who love God and are the called according to his purpose. Is Elijah one called according to God's purpose? Is he one who is righteous? Yes. And so Jezebel actually was the force through which God pushed Elijah out of what he had been doing into his next season, which was by a new revelation of God's faithfulness to then anoint his successor. Elijah was not demoted. See, this is why people, when they teach this, it comes across like Elijah did something wrong. Elijah's human, and God will never fault you for being human. Elijah did not curse God. Job did not curse God. God allowed Satan to be God's hand in Job's life to bring him to a new measure of crying out for the Lord. He fasted and prayed and sought and wept and wanted to hear God's voice and was finally able to see God in a new way. And the same can be said of Elijah. Oh my God, let us give him praise. Jezebel is not seated on anybody's throne. Oh my God. Jezebel has to come and get permission from the Lord to attack his church. My God. So that means there's a good work that God is going to perform through this demonic spirit coming into his church. God is not undone. God is sovereign. God is sovereign. The Bible says the heart of the king is in the hands of God. God has Satan's heart in his hand. He's using Satan, who is the prince of darkness, who is the ruler of this world, glory to God, and he's using Satan's messed-up, demonic dark heart to move us closer to the Lord.

David’s Defiant Worship Under Attack

We see this again in David's life. And so Michael was being impacted by a Jezebel spirit. And David comes home, and this Jezebel spirit speaks through David's wife and says that he made a mockery of God and he made a fool of himself. And David said, No, I'll be more undignified than this, because and I'm gonna humble myself because of the glory of God and his blessings in my life. I'm going to sell out more for the Lord. I'm going to give him more, and you cannot stop me. Jezebel drives us closer to God and seeks to keep us from getting closer to God. So it's by Jezebel bringing us to dry places. It's by Jezebel bringing us to places of pain. It's by Jezebel bringing us into places where God has not quite moved as he intends in greater measure. That we begin to cry out for God, that we begin to discern our more needing God, that we begin to sit more at his feet. Jezebel is not one that stops God's move. Jezebel and Satan and every other demonic spirit, Leviathan, water spirits, the ones we like to make sound like they're so special, they are all God's hand in the earth. He has reserved some in the depths, and they will be released in the last days, because God will use even the imprisoned demons for the cleansing of the earth and the purification of his bride.

Victory Through Presence And Prayer

Let us pray. Father, I'm grateful that we can trust you. You are faithful when we are faithless. You cannot deny who you are. As we delve into this mystery of the demonic realm, in order to understand how to defeat and resist it, I pray that we take it right to the gates of hell with boldness and bravery, knowing that we have been given the victory. And the victory is at the altar. The victory is in your presence. The victory is in fasting and prayer and brokenness. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek. Lord, you will bless us in our brokenness. Even as these spirits seek to dominate us, we will cry out to you, and you will listen and answer speedily. Show us how we need to be corrected. As this demonic spirit's lies try to invade our very ability to understand your character, we will refine our understanding of who you are. As we delve into this demonic scheme to separate us from what you said we cannot be separated from, and that is your love. I'm so grateful for this teaching and this series. May every ear and every eye that is made to hear and see it come to drink. In Jesus' name. Amen.
